They spend millions and are quite recent. We spent a bit less 20 years ago. CD wasn`t invented then! I`ve just put the tracks onto CD-R and printed covers for them. If you want to buy the CD then check to see if your CD Player will accept CD-R`s. All mine do :-) I also have a second CD (Newport Live) which contains a few old live recordings of the group plus a few other songs (All Live), and a few bonus tracks! These will make you laff!

The Story of Chasidim.

The members of Chasidim all went to Ryde Elim Penticostal Church. Their names, Tony Anderson (Singer, Guitar), Malcolm Creed (Singer, Guitar), Terry Hicks (Electric Guitar), Chris Lines (Drums). They used to get together to pratice and get ideas for their songs. In the evening service, the band played a couple of their songs. Time moved on and they decided to make an audio cassette. They decided on the name `Chasidim`(which comes from the Bible), and chose the title of their cassette `Name Above All` (meaning God`s Name Above All).

The band got a date ready for the recording studio but they had no percussion. I (Ian Gardner) was called upon, as well as Tony`s two son`s, Sean and Craig Anderson.

The day in 1981 went very well. We had managed to get all the 11 songs down onto tape in one day. All was neede was for the vocals and other additions. These were added a week later.

The group isn`t together now, but they play and visit each other. Tony is the pastor of Ryde Elim. Malcolm has a ministry with his music. Terry is self-employed selling cards and still plays the guitar. Chris is a delivery driver. Ian works for a local Cycle Shop. Sean is a record producer and music writer. Craig is a care worker (I think!)
