Battersby Cycles is situated in the Island town of Ryde. It can be found by taking Union Street (which is the road oppersite Ryde Pier) and walking up to the top. You will then see a road junction. Take the High Street and follow this all the way up past Woolworths and you will come to some traffic lights. Follow the road straight on up a small hill past Tandy`s and you will be at another junction. We are here. You will see alot of secondhand cycles and repairs outside of the shop.

Opening times. Mon - Sat 9.00 - 5.00pm. Dinner 1.00 - 2.15pm excluding Sat.

Battersby Cycles is owned by my brother and it has been run by him for 8 years. It has always been a cycle shop and in the oldern days it sold Petrol and Parofin from pumps outside of the shop. It is said by many that Battersby`s is the oldest shop on the Island as it is over 115 years old. We and past owners must be doing something right. Most business open and close in a couple of years.

This is the workshop. In the summer, this is chock-a-block with repairs and getting new cycles ready.

If you are on holiday or planing one then we have cycles for hire. These will need to be booked in advance as it gets pretty busy with them going out and it avoids disapointment. If you bring your cycle on holiday with you and it breaks down. We can mend it for you (repairs). You will need to get it to us. If the cycle is brought to us in the morning then we may be able to fix it and you can pick it up in the afternoon. If were busy then you may have to pick it up the following day.

We have an excellent range of new cycles for you to purchase and you may if you wish, trade in your old cycle with us.

Some of the brands of cycles we do are:- Raleigh, Saxon, Concept, Bsa, Diamond Back, Emmelle, Integra, Barracuda.

We also have a few secondhand cycles on display for you to buy. We are well known for our secondhand cycles.

So in general we can offer the cyclist or holidaymaker a complete range of services like Repairs, The sale of new and used cycles, Cyles parts, Accessories, and much more. You can pay for your products by cash or your credit card.

We do a Christmas Club ( all year round). You pick your bike and we give you a card. When you pass the shop, pop in and give us some money. As soon as the bikes paid for you can have it! It doesn`t cost you anymore and it doesn`t have to be for Christmas!

Unlike the bigger shops that have more overheads and ripoff prices. We try to keep prices as low as possible and not rip you off. We like to keep our customers!

Cycle Hire. From about Easter Time to September we do Cycle Hire. Please phone for details and to book your cycles. We only have a limited amount of cycles for hire and it gets VERY busy during the summer. You have been warned. BOOK NOW or you may be disappointed.
